The 2013 Champions Cup Invitational will be held at Champions Golf Club in Houston, Texas April 18th through April 21st, with a practice round on Wednesday, April 17th (there is no practice round on Tuesday).
The Champions Cup Invitational tournament is a 72-hole, best ball, stroke play format started by Jack Burke and Jimmy Demaret in the 1960's. The tournament hosts teams of competitors from throughout the United States. Since the tournament has a national focus, invitations to local players are made available under the following general guidelines:
Current Texas State Amateur Champion
Current Texas Mid-Amateur Champion
Current Texas State 4-Ball Champion
Local Qualifiers for the USGA National Mid-Amateur Championship
National Amateur Championship
Houston City Amateur Champion
Champions Golf Club’s “Club Champion,” ” Runner-Up” and “Senior Club Champion”
Champions members with points accumulated through the club tournament golf calendar
Past Champions Cup Winners
Those local players exhibiting a national focus and achievement to their competitive golf
Entry Fee
The entry fee for the 2013 tournament is $1,100 per team. While green fees and range balls are complimentary Wednesday, there is a charge for use of carts. The entry fee requirements for the tournament are as follows - both partners must:
- Have an accredited handicap of three (3) or less
- Be a member of a USGA-affliated Golf Club
- Team members being from the same state is NO LONGER A REQUIREMENT
- Be at least 25 years of age
- Walk during the tournament
- Slacks are now OPTIONAL

Entry into the tournament does not confirm a place in the tournament. Registration will allow us to determine which teams are interested in playing and if your team is selected, your formal invitation will be mailed out on our before March 1, 2013 detailing the tournament's activities.
