In 1957, when the final plans were announced by the press for the golf course, the final question came!  What to call this new course?
The decision was to keep it simple but commemorate the dazzling success of Jackie Burke & Jimmy Demaret who together had won all the major titles on the tour. Why not call the course exactly what Jackie & Jimmy truly were - Champions!

Cypress Creek Course

Open for play in 1959 and designed by Ralph Plummer, Cypress Creek was craved into a beautiful forest with over 70,000 trees, wide fairways and enormous greens. It is a premier course rich in history from the 1967 Ryder Cup, 1969 U.S. Open, 4 - Champions International Tournaments, 1990 Nabisco Championship, 1993 U.S. Amateur, 1998 & 2017 U.S. Women's Mid Amateur and 4 - PGA Tour Championships. At 7,147 yards, it plays to a par 71.

Jackrabbit Course

Jackrabbit, designed by George Fazio, opened for play in 1964. While equally as difficult as Cypress Creek, it is totally different. It has narrower fairways, smaller greens and deeper, more numerous bunkers. At 7,018 yards, it plays to a par 71.
